KidVidiot OP taxonomy and Gen 1/Gen 2 mapping.

Variant detail sheets

V01 — Champion Edition / First Edition Big Blue

Features: attached marquee; early speaker panel; standard 2P metal CP; commonly 2-slot coin door; 25” monitor assumed (p23 #442 question).

Original games: SF2CE (primary); early units may have 4-slot door with 2 blocked (p48 #954).

Evidence: p1 #1; p48 #948–955.

Open questions: Exact CE production split between 2-slot vs modified 4-slot doors.

V02 — Captain Commando Big Blue

Features: dedicated side art; 4-slot coin door typical; CP/speaker panel slightly different from CE.

Original games: Captain Commando.

Evidence: p1 #1; p9 LyonsArcade; p46 #908–909.

V03 — Punisher black Big Blue

Features: black vinyl; extensive side art; dedicated CPO; same silhouette as Gen 1 blue.

Disputed: Whether SSF2/SSF2T shipped here vs V10 only (p2 #23 sosage).

V07 — Short detached standard

Features: short marquee box with “neck” rings; standard 2P CP.

Header rings: five-piece stack reported (2 opaque blue + 3 translucent orange discs); see docs/marquee-rings.md.

Owner example: RF849 marked cab with MSHvSF (p1 #5); noClip NOS disc find (p6 #106).

V10 — Tall detached standard (Big-box Top)

Features: tall detached marquee box sized for full Big Blue marquee art; standard 2P CP (not wide AvP / Slam Masters); factory Q-Sound amp bay.

Original games (flyer / OP): SSF2, SSF2T, Slam Masters 2P.

Gen 2 mapping: Big-box Top silhouette (not Snub-top — Snub uses standard marquee dimensions).

Owner example: Chris Yabsley / KLOV bigrussel — shell 020800941 serial 2, marquee 020800971 serial 1; blue laminate (not paint/vinyl); factory Q-Sound; Peter Chou PSU; original harness (owner report, 2026).
