- Best part of the pick-up was that it was one of those free empty cab Craigslist give-aways =). See what I meant by quiet patience?
- I am cleaning her up now and she is shining up nicely. She is even in better shape that my other G2 Sharkfin. The only body damage is to the front panel under the CP. Hardly visible with the CP box installed. The A51 decals peeled right off and served to protect the cab all these years. Will need to strip the black paint off the from of the CP box. Bondo the holes drilled for the coin mech security latch. Spot paint that. The PSU works as does the rest of the power. Only the CP is in bad shape. I’ll bust out the router to fab a new one using wood from another cab I dismantled. Maybe buy one of your buddy’s CP’s if the price is right.

- As you can see, the real find was lurking in the back of this bad photo. There was one guy ahead of me, but he wanted the HS9 for MAME and not the BB =). The cab is cleaning up nicely too. Body-wise it is mint except for the security holes drilled for the coin mech and in the back. It’s in better condition than my other G2 BB Sharkfin.

- Hey guys I desperately need a CPO Lexan Cover for my 2nd gen big blue. I have tried Lexans from both Herman and ctozi and both have different issues that don’t line up with the original parts. Is there anyone on this green earth that makes a proper replacement that fits on an original CPO?
- I should add that I don’t have the tools or know how to cut one myself. I also have nobody around here in my area that does this kind of thing.

- Something else that I just notic3d with acblunden:
- The NQS control panel is slightly different than the Q-sound cab:
- You can see the top portion is more rounded on the NQS cab, where the regular q-sound cab is more angular. This seems to support the idea that the NQS cabs were a first design to me.

- Took some time this weekend to replicate my G2 control panel. I have to make 2 of these. So far so good. Salvaged what I could from a damaged arcade machine, then dismantled it, and used the wood for this purpose. You can see what’s left of that cab in the background.
- Next thing to do is to line the two pieces together and clamp them together. Then will mark the button holes. Unclamp them and drill a pilot hole just big enough for the router flush mount but to fit into. Clamp it back together again and will use a router to cut the holes perfectly to the dimension of the OG panel. Saves me the expense of buying the bits needed for the job and will end up with cleaner holes.

- Nice! I like the recycling nature of it too!

- Got a little further with it. Only thing left is to bevel out the joystick mount, cut the molding slot, drill in the mounting holes, and bevel the back edge so that it lays flat. Waiting for the slot cutting routing bit and will get moving on it then.
- Trying to source some Lexan now to DIY up an overlay. What do you guys think is the right thickness for the Lexan? Is it 1/8” or 3/16”? I know it isn’t 1/4”. Thanks!

- As much as you can scan works great as I can randomize it better.
