- I don’t normally post my restoration threads so here goes…I have one of later generation cabs that I received with a soggy loose control panel. I stripped the old cpo off to removed the plates with the pem bolts.

- I picked up a piece of white melamine from Minards for about $12 and made a copy.
- Since I wasn’t firing up the CNC for this project I had to use three different bits when routing the panel, a flush cut bit with bearing to follow the contour of the original panel. A two flute straight bit to make the plunge cuts for joystick mounting plates and slot cutting bit for the t-molding groove.
- Next I applied an NOS diamond plate overlay to the fresh melamine.
- Installed the joysticks and buttons and now over to the top of cabinet to fix some chips in the blue.
- I don’t know why, but these chips really bothered me, luckly I had a solution. A while ago I had made and had powdered coated some of the marquee retainers for this style cabinet and it fit perfectly.
- I cut a new bezel so I can remove the faded COTA one. I’m only waiting on a new piece of 1/8” tempered glass and this cab is ready for the games room!

- Thanks man, I just followed the line. I didn’t have a CAD file and I figured it would take longer to draw one up then copy it by hand!
- DuffCon said: Very impressive routing! I was lucky my buddy has a CNC and made me a new CP. I maybe could pull that off manually, but I’d probably trash a ton of panels in the process! Click to expand…

- Looks great! Can you share where you got diamond overlay? Link?
- Need one to put over my MVC dynamo cab.
- Thank.
- Thank you. I’ve had that overlay probably 8 years. I bought a huge stack of unused art from an old operator and I’m slowing finding uses for them. Keep an eye on the eBay, these things pop up fairly often!

- I don’t know if Prariedillo comes around anymore, but he has a horror story about working at Capcom when the arcade division shut down. The company destroyed SO MUCH stuff for tax reasons (it’s really depressing). Including, you guessed it, an insanely tall pile of NOS diamond CP art. He saved a small stack and slowly distributed them to the community.
- I got the last one from his inventory (No, it’s not for sale. Yes, I have a machine for it.).
- So if you find a legit NOS diamond CP sheet, don’t waste it.

- Wow…I had no idea they were that rare…I’ll keep my eye out for them
- Super interesting story though.

- Hey fellas, does anyone know where I can source a reproduction or original of this CPO? Part number appears to be AWOO145-1. Working on a cosmetic restore of my big blue and am looking to replace it kind for kind. I like how the purple on the CPO matches the Darkstalkers marquee. Haven’t had any luck searching online for it. I’m also open to seeing other member’s big blue Darkstalkers setups for other CPO ideas. Thank you

- As far as I know that CPO hasn’t been reproduced, so. NOS is the only way. If anyone can get a good scan to a reproducer, I’m sure they would make some $$

- So I have a Gen 1 BB that I restored from a BAGS (don’t ask) anyhow I put the art package on there but I’m wondering if anyone is selling a plexi for the cp or has a laser cut file?

- Okay so I got myself a big blue yesterday I worked really hard to save up for it during this nice recession were in. Looking at it there’s just a hint of a tag left and the best that I can figure is that it was a Street Fighter Alpha 2. I have to dig on the inside but it looks like they hacked it up a little bit to make the Tekken 3 board what do you guys think is this a Gen 2?

- That very much looks like a Gen. 2 to me
- If your harness is hacked just wire a new jamma harness in for sf2 if that’s what you’re gonna run. More importantly is the Q-sound amp in there?
- Agreed. Gen2.
- Off the top of my head, wiring wise the other owner shouldn’t have had to hack it up badly (if at all) to get Tekken 3 working. But … who knows what folks will do! We’ve all seen nightmare conversions.
