  • Ha… arcade collecting in 2020, when being called a hoarder is preferred to being called a flipper.

  • Ughhhhh

  • What a mockery. I thought for sure these were going to die out back when the first cabs were so crappy but it seems they were just getting started. I’m so tired of videos and for sale ads being flooded by this junk.

  • Atrocious

  • Not to be contrarian, but I actually understand why these things exist. Most people want the same things we wanted getting into this hobby: their own mini-arcade. The thing is, the average person doesn’t want to deal with even the slightest maintenance and hassle legit equipment brings. Let alone all the additional size/weight issues a Big Blue presents. Shieet … sometimes I don’t want to deal with this crap either. So … I mean … I get it.
  • But yeah. The wider control panel is probably the most important part that they needed to replicate. Every year at CAX, the average player tells me they tend to prefer the Big Blues just for the elbow space. I would’ve gone with replicating how the 2nd Gen CP is a bit fatter than the body to get more space. Otherwise the tallness is really just replicating 90s’ Capcom hubris trying to dominate the arcade’s eye-line. ;P
  • Not a fan of that front graphic (would’ve preferred it blank), but again, it isn’t really made for folks like me. So … shrug

  • Agreed; not everyone has the acumen, energy, or space to devote to acquiring full size cabs.
  • My 2 cents: The “generic” form factor was fine because it wasn’t really trying to be something that it wasn’t; a “replica” of a real cab. In this case, they seem to be going in that direction and failing spectacularly. If you’re going to say this is a replica of a big blue, at least make it mostly accurate to the original. In this case, they’re already re-tooling to change the side panels, so why not go the extra mile and actually ditch the stupid riser and make the proportions correct? It feels like a lazy cash grab, especially since they’re just recycling the guts that they have used in at least 3 other cabs.
  • Obviously, this thread has become the “Big Blue Fan Club” so we’re going to shit on it for not being a big blue, but I feel like they’ve sold enough cabs to do better.

  • The big blues are the mix of showcase cabs and regular cabs combined into perfection.

  • Got this one the other day. I actually bought it over a year ago and it just made its way out to me via Bob Cunningham. Happy to have it. The only factory dedicated knights of the round in a blue I have seen (I’m sure there are others just never seen them). I’ve reached out and am already working with galloping ghosts to get the marquee scanned and available for repro as I don’t think anyone has it?
