  • how hard is it to access those bolts ?
  • Just remove the back door?
  • I’m not near mine at the moment to look inside of it

  • Yeah, it’s pretty easy if you have the monitor out. Otherwise you can pull the marquee and go that way.

  • Can you loosen those speaker panel bolts w the monitor in? Where are they exactly ? Thanks In advance

  • Sorry, I don’t have a great picture. This is about as clear as I can make it. You can see the 4 points that have bolts behind them here.

  • Few questions…
  • Can anyone show me how the PCB is mounted in a Gen 1? (Both CPS 1, 1.5, 2) Has anyone added Q Sound (or equivalent audio for CPS 2) to a Gen 1 cabinet? How would I go about it? Do I need original Q-Sound hardware?

  • Definitely looks like it. As per @Kidkaos video earlier in the thread they do exist.
  • I’d be curious about how they output their audio/video etc.

  • Funny part.. if someone got a partially wrecked big blue and decided to hack it down to recreate one of these pedestals… 90% of people would be calling bullshit all day. lol.

  • This is the real deal folks. There video evidence that proves to me it isn’t just a fever dream of mine. They used these with a 4 screen paneled crt wall (not sure the correct terminology) but you used to see the canvas like projection screens in the 90s at shopping malls etc.

  • Ok. I finally found what I recall seeing back in the day. The correct term is a “rear projection video wall” just like on this stock picture. These were used in major tournaments with these pedestals.
  • Very popular in the 1990s in shopping malls, etc.

Post #1297 — JakeJones07, Mar 15, 2023

  • I ended up picking up the pedestal. It was a late night pickup so I didn’t have a chance to do a full debug. Pictures are here.
  • Observations:
  • Lots of what appears to be a serial number matches on parts. Cabinet itself look’s factory. Game doesn’t power on (seems like a bad power supply) Power supply is just sitting in the bottom of the cabinet. I need to look more to see if I can find were it was originally mounted. There’s no power switch. And the power video wires are just going through a hole in the back of the game. The game board is connected to some kind of composite video converter. Once I’m able to get a new power supply, I’ll dig in more.

  • Can’t wait! Now we need a name for it; I’m thinking “Chibi Blue”.

  • Wow that is bizarre and huge
  • Must take up a lot of room
  • Would like to see it all set it up
