  • Hey Sosage,
  • Just checking, but I take it you haven’t had a chance to open up the back of your cab to snap some shots of the speaker setup.
  • No hurry bro, just a reminder in case you ever get a chance.
  • Peace

  • Something interesting just popped up…did other companies use this cabinet for their own dedicated units?

  • I managed to shoe-horn a big blue into my van yesterday; I think I found the upper limit for how wide a cabinet I can carry in there. That’s not quite 3/4” of clearance.
  • This one is the same as the first listed Q-Sound cabs in this thread.
  • I have to get new glass cut for the bezel and marquee. Can someone give me the dimensions for these glass pieces please?
  • I’m also looking for a part number and source for a PSU for it.
  • Cheers!

  • Had to remind myself today that Hyper Fighting does not have a big blue marquee. There is one pictured on google images but it’s obviously a regular-sized marquee blown out of proportion.
  • So the current big blue marquee list looks like this:
  • 19XX: The War Against Destiny
  • Alien vs Predator
  • Battle Arena Toshinden 2
  • Captain Commando
  • Cyberbots
  • Darkstalkers
  • D&D Tower of Doom
  • D&D Shadow over Mystara
  • Eco Fighters
  • Knights of the Round
  • Marvel Super Heroes
  • The Night Warriors
  • The Punisher
  • Saturday Night Slam Masters
  • Star Gladiators
  • SF2 CE
  • SF Alpha
  • SF Alpha 2
  • Street Fighter: The Movie
  • Super Puzzle Fighter 2 Turbo
  • Super SF2
  • Super SF2 Turbo
  • X-Men: CotA
  • X-Men vs Street Fighter

  • Seeing this thread reminds me, the glass dimensions for the first Q-Sound cabinet are:
    • Marquee Glass - 15 1/4” x 26 7/8”
    • Bezel Glass - 22 1/4” x 26 7/8”

  • Not sure if this has been answered before but does anyone make plexi CP overlays for any of the Big Blues ? I have a 2 player cab that could use a new overlay( and even an underlay for that matter).

  • Hmm, i need one that looks like the CP in 34k’s post above. It has the little indentation where the tmolding comes down along side the bezel.

  • yeah im in the same boat. looks like for our version we need to make our own

  • might have to see what tap plastics would charge to make one. I had them make one for a nba jam cab and that is a lot bigger. I think it was less than $100 but cant remember.

  • I had Tap Plastics make one for my Mortal Kombat II a few years ago and it cost about 80 bucks. Of course, there’s no tricky cutting for that one. The corners/edges are straight.
  • It would be great to purchase a Q-sound version for what the eBay guy is offering.

  • If you have a router you can EASILY make your own. When I made my new panel for my Big Blue I also made a new lexan panel for it. Just buy a rectangular piece of lexan a little bigger than your control panel and clamp it to it tightly. Use a flush trim bit and route all the way around it.
  • Then leaving it clamped to the control panel I flipped it upside down on top of a scrap piece of plywood for support and drilled small pilot holes for each button. The holes were just big enough to fit my flush trim bit through it. Then I just flush trimmed out each button. Comes out perfect every time as long as you clamp it tightly. You should be able to do the panel for under $20. The fraying you see in the picture is the protective film on both sides of the lexan.

  • The Hyper Fighting marquee for big blue cabs was a large decal that was applied onto plexi. I have a NOS decal in decent shape if some one wants to help make quality repros.
