- Thanks, this helps a ton!
- The Molex route for the kick harnesses make a good deal of sense. I’ll have a look around for the parts. Happen to know where I can get the piece that attaches to the CPS1 board, or even what it’s called so I can order it online?
- Yes, the CPS2 uses RCAs to the Q-Sound amp. I actually looked around the internet a bit yesterday, and got the sound on the CPS1 to work via the same method you used, streetfighterken. Hearing the attract screen music from my first and very own SF2 cab was a wonderful thing to hear.
- However, I got into the same problem with the uneven sounds from each speaker, but I just ordered a cheap inline volume controller with independent left/rights so that will probably fix it. Is there an official/semi-official CPS1 stereo harness? Seems to be a pretty nifty thing to have instead of my mickey-mouse method.
- Below are some resources that helped me out if anyone is interested in doing the same CPS1 stereo mod.

- Can the monitors be rotated to vertical in any of the big blue cabinets? I’m asking because I have the tall 19xx marquee, and I really don’t want to cut it.

- Picked up a Big Blue today. It’s a 2 player with the Big Detached Marquee.

- And yet another example of the Big Blue cabs with the variant speakers and grills… this time for sale by someone on KLOV… in Illinois.
- I also found a better picture of the traditional Q-sound cab speaker (from a Big Blue with the tapered, large marquee style like mine), and it shows exactly how it’s mounted inside by the special bracket.
- Here’s my latest theory/questions:
- As I’ve said before, based on the fact that my Big Blue cab does NOT have the 4 screw holes where the common Capcom speakers are mounted to the cabinet by the special brackets… it is plainly obvious that my cab never had the special speaker brackets installed in it.
- Now that does NOT mean that my cab never had the more common Capcom speakers though. Because as I’ve mentioned before, I’ve never been able to figure out why the area on the inside of my cab has a sticky, black, foamy residue surrounding the exact edges of the where the speaker frame is.
- The common Capcom speakers all have the black foam padding, which lines the edges of the speakers where they push flush against the speaker slots.
- Now common sense and logic tells me that the black residue has to have come from the Capcom speakers… but if they were ever there, that again brings the questions of:
-
- why are there no screw holes for the speaker mounting brackets?
-
- were they just mounted without screws or bolts, and held in place by the sticky foam?
-
- why were they taken out?
-
- why were they replaced with entirely different speakers and grills?
- Anyhow, just a little more info. and food for thought.

- Hey everyone,
- I’m planning to pick up a (first edition) dedicated SFII:CE Big Blue, but having difficulty finding the dimensions of the cab. I have an suv (Nissan Armada) and hoping it will fit on its back or side, as I’d rather not have to rent a trailer. I’ve found some dimensions for the similar looking Xmen vs SF Q-sound Big Blue pictured on the first page, just none for this particular cab. Also, is the entire control panel/box removable? Any info would be appreciated. Thanks.

- On my big blue Champion Edition I was able to remove the control panel and box by removing a bunch of wood screws on the inside. Maybe 3koam made them a couple of different ways?

- Ok so I have been looking online for hours now and can’t seem to find an answer so i will just ask here.
- I am looking for a CPO Diamond overlay for two of my SF2CE style big blues. I have already set a third up as SF2CE. Now the ones I can find are all generic blank cpo’s from GoG or ebay.
- My problem is that I could have sworn I saw a cpo printed with the button locations on it and not just another set of stickers added on after the cpo was set.
- Has anyone seen something like this? I would much rather not use a sticker set as I don’t like hitting the edges of the stickers during play.
- Also I am still looking for a big blue SF v Xmen Marquee if anyone can point me in the right direction.
- Here is a link to my original post from a few months back showing the machines. The big blue closest to the MK2 machine is the one I changed back to SF2CE. I will probably leave the Marvel v Capcom in its cab and change out the Left most xmencota to xmen vs SF.

- sainrub said: Awesome thread! Was alot of fun to read all the discussions. I own a Big Blue and on mine there is no Q-Sound amp or speakers. Sports the same 8 ohm china branded speakers i’ve seen in your earlier pics. Has the same black adhesive oozing from the speaker mounts. All i can contribute is the label is still intact and shows that the model name is SSFA2 NQS. I imagine “NQS” might be abbreviated for No Q-Sound. Would be really terrific for someone from Dynamo or anybody for that matter to shed the details on the circumstances that lead to this decision. My guess is to cut costs for operators to buy a more no frills unit. Click to expand…
