- sainrub said: Hey your back, howdy! It really is a mystery. I recently came across a post on BYOAC from a guy who worked at Dynamo during their heyday but he hasn’t logged in over there in some time.
- I had some questions for him about it. Shame really, he could put all this to rest. Click to expand…

- Why the heck does SF The Movie have such a unique harness? It’s two player six button just like every other capcom fighter, yet it maps the kick harness buttons to weird ass spots, doesn’t use the speaker connections at the jamma edge connector…it’s ridiculous

- An older thread, but a good one to keep active.
- With regards to the screw holes for the Q-Sound Amp, it’s likely that the design specs for the Big Blue cabinet had those screw holes in there for every single sheet that came through. Dynamo would add in the screw holes to prevent chipping of the laminate for some reason, or they would check all panels for the proper location of the Q-Sound amp.
- For some reason, with certain cabs that weren’t going to have the Q-Sound amps, they still used that same panel in the cabinet assembly so you see the screw holes even though the cab never had any Q-Sound amp intended to be in there.
- Just a theory.

- CE and Punisher cabs
- I’ve joined the club!
- Picked up an original SF2CE dynamo big blue cabinet. Even has the strange Street Fighter 3 dynamo label that I’ve read others have also found. Also got what I had thought was going to be a big blue converted to Golden Tee, but turned out to be Punisher.
- I noticed a few differences between these cabs, which I’ll list below and add some quick photos.
-
- Punisher sidewalls are laminated black inside and out, CE is blue
-
- the back door is much taller on Punisher, allowing for better access to the monitor
-
- the outer extended front side walls are not as tall on Punisher
-
- the power supply on Punisher uses a remote switch located on top of the cab, while CE has an access hole in the lower right of the cabinet to reach the button on the PS
-
- Punisher monitor mounts have notches to fit left or right hand frame rails, CE only has the right hand notches (all of my k7000s are left handed, viewed from back of tube)
-
- Punisher control panel wood is an outline frame, with basically a huge opening in the middle. CE has individual cut outs for the joysticks and button arrays
- Other things differ slightly, like the speaker grill lip bend angles and the control panel lip angle to the monitor glass are sharper on Punisher.
- Figured I would just put this info out here, maybe it will help somebody some day.

- I ordered 40 feet. Since the bottom of my cab was in bad shape I had to bondo repair a lot of the bottom. As a result I didnt run the Tmolding under it like original. 40 feet was enough to do front to back as well as the other 2 front runs under the CP and around the CP. If you are doing under the cab also I would suggest 50 feet. The color is Light Grey…it’s the link you quoted. =)

- Where would you guys recommend getting a repro SF2CE marquee from? All the ones I have seen on the web and Youtube appear to be misaligned where the top of the oval emblem and the bottom of the “Capcom” logo are cut off by the flanges. From what I can gather, the Gen 2 marquees are slightly taller than the Gen 1 marquees. I think that all the repros are produces for the Gen 2 cabinets and that is why this happens.
Serial/tag references:
