- Any idea who the seller was? I could definitely use one if he makes more. I could actually use two. I have another Big Blue I’ll be restoring in the spring

- It was ctozzi on here I believe. He has been busy with other projects currently and that is probably why you haven’t seen the big blue plexi for sale lately.

- Haruman makes excellent repro CNCd CPs and plexis for the Qsound big blues.

- Curious - any other CPS-2 big blue owners and/or Q-sound big blue owners have factory wiring for CPS-1 kick and mono audio in their cab.
- Was just responding to another post, detailing the mono audio wiring in my big blue:
- Female 4-pin molex connector (identical to the ones used for PC IDE hard drive power connection), which has 4 u-clips. What these connect to, I don’t know…I removed this connector at some point in the past that I don’t remember.
- The other side of the connector is male 4-pin molex routing the mono signal to both speakers. It appears the ground connection is just a jumper at the connector.
- For the kick harness, my CPS-2 kick harness is actually part CPS1-to-CPS2 adapter and part cabinet wiring to the volume/test/service panel behind the coin door.
- Just curious what the configuration of others’ big blues is, with regard to backwards compatibility.

- Can someone out there that has one of the first gen. cabs running Champion Edition post some pics of the inside of the control panel? I just picked one up over the weekend that was converted to a Golden Tee and all the holes are still there for Street Fighter but I think whoever converted it cut some of the threaded rods off of the metal control panel where the joysticks go. Just wanted to double check though. Thanks.

- I was replacing the CPO on my X-men vs Street Fighter and I noticed the joystick mounting plate is different from the ones on my Slam Masters 4 player. As you can see on the Slam (on the left) they are inline with the joystick bolts and the vs they are diagonal.
- The Slam cab has been a SSF2T and a Marvel Vs, so two of the plates were drilled out to mount buttons and make the CP 2 player. (The overlays were all on top of each other, it was like seeing the past in rings on a tree trunk)
- What do you guys do if you are missing a plate? I had a sheet metal guy at work make me one for my vs cab, but it was hand made and a little rough with weld marks on the top.

- Looks good! I need to get a piece of plexi for mine.
- Question for you guys. I wanna add stereo sound to my machine but I don’t have the q sound amp. What do you guys use?
- I’m running the Q-sound amp in this cab (I need to get a new sticker for it), but I have another Big Blue that doesn’t. I put in one of these: http://www.ebay.com/itm/12V-Mini-Hi…id=100005&rk=5&rkt=6&mehot=pp&sd=162200624773 Super cheap, and works pretty much the same. RCA in, stereo out, run 12v from your jamma to the barrel connector.

- Just saw this on eBay, and thought it was interesting. It’s advertised as a rare, dedicated half-sized big blue. Seems legit. Got some pictures for when the listing expires.

- Notice the peeling vinyl in the second picture? Also notice the cut edge of said vinyl that looks like it was cut with an exacto knife (not very precise…)? Did big blues have vinyl? Mine appears to be some kind of textured coating.
- Also, why would Capcom create one of these with RCA out? Maybe 3KOAM basterdized a cab to do this, but I think there would have been some licensing issues with doing so? It’s not like ops were going to go buy CRT TV’s in the early 90’s and wall-mount them, in order to get a lesser quality image.
- I’m just saying, I’m a bit skeptical. I think there was a couple more non-big-blues like this posted in the overpriced game thread or multicade abominations thread, wherein the cabs had been chopped and were outputting video to wall-mounted flat screens. They looked the same - half cabs chopped off just above the control panel.
Measurements:
- 90’

- You’re right, TVs with RCA inputs are not very compatible with arcades. My Big Blue has some sort of textured blue plastic on it. Kinda suspect.

- Yeah, I call BS. On the eBay listing look at the wiring harness, there are molex connectors that change wiring color on one side to the other. My Big Blues have consistent wiring colors and patterns.
- Pedestals were very popular for a while, they even made a conversion kit to turn a Golden Tee into a pedestal by using a template to chop it up.

- I finally managed to get a hold of a 1st gen big blue, but it looks like its from a captain commando because of the metal layout of the control panel and the 4-person coin door. I’m thinking about converting this to a SF2:CE but the control panel looks like a disaster from the person who converted this to a marvel vs. capcom. The buttons aren’t truly horizontal, its off. Ideally I’d like to get my hands on an original control panel for the SF2 but they seem hard to come by. How can I fix this? I’m not sure where the exact button and joystick placement should be if I were to redo the wood. I don’t know how to reproduce the metal part.
