  • My Big Blue project was an original Q sound cab BUT someone had already removed the original speakers and rigged up something else. However, I was able to see that the brackets for the Q Sound Speakers do screw right into the wood.
  • If you check out my thread you will see that although I built my own shelf to hold new speakers, the original holes for the top bracket are still visible.

  • sfernandes said: Ok good to know. With a short enough screw so it doesn’t penetrate to the other side I’m assuming. I was worried about doing it that way thinking the holes would get large in time and the speakers fall damaging the monitor. But I guess if the factory did it that way I guess it’s ok. I dunno lol Click to expand…

  • sfernandes said: I dunno about that because a pilot hole will make it even looser. When guys screw pcbs into the particle board sheet inside the cab does it fall apart? Click to expand…

  • RetroGamerJP said: I personally would not recommend you drill pilot holes because if you use the wrong type of bit it can grab the material and make it’s way all the way through the cab in a blink of an eye. If you are worried about it being loose in the existing hole then I would step up the diameter of the screw while keeping the length the same. Click to expand…

  • Does anyone know If there’s a specific bezel for Super Street fighter II Turbo on a Gen. 1 Big Blue?

  • Same here. My assumption is that Gen 2 launched with the CPS2, and SSF2/ST in a Gen 1 would likely be using a kit version of the CP art.

  • BB CE Joystick Depth
  • Were there spacers installed on the joysticks from the factory or were they mounted directly to the metal CP? I just picked up a BB CE and the joysticks were mounted directly to the CP. I’m starting to restore mine and I was thinking of buying nylon spacers to bring it down about a 1/2 inch. When playing it without spacers the joysticks felt odd.

Measurements:

  • 2 inch

  • No bezel, just decals to put at the top and bottom of a generic black bezel, like most CPS2 kits. The only CPS2 games that have a dedicated bezel are X-men COTA and Marvel Superheroes, afaik.

  • So I just finished bringing back a big blue v1 converted to a bags. After lots of welding and bondoing sanding she’s turned out great. But the CPO kit from escape pod is off. From what I’m seeing the player button labels go below the button and the instruction card is comically undersized on the panel. Anyone make one?

  • I found a Q-sound cab in December but I desired the gen 1 version.
  • So one of these will have to leave soon!
