- It’s your game and you do what you want.
- At the same time, if I were in your shoes … I’d leave the link access and the means to attach another cabinet to it alone while cleaning it up/restoring it. BUT! Everyone’s got an opinion, right? ;P
- Quick question for everyone here that owns a squat marquee version of this Big Blue: does yours also have that access hole on one of the sides?
- I’m wondering if this squat marquee design was originally, specifically, supposed to be only for SSF2TE/SNSM link units, and they all have these link holes/bolts? Then later they all got changed to whatever game was in demand (or, I mean, converted by ops)?

- Have any of you guys rebuilt your Qsound amps? (i.e. recapped, replaced components, etc).
- I’ve noticed that the left channel on mine is noticeably louder than the right. Went into sound test and verified that it’s not the cable or speaker, but guessing it’s the output from the amp?
- EDIT: Just did some more testing and determined that it is NOT in fact the Q-sound amp, but rather the A board that’s outputting a lower level over the right channel. Not sure if there’s a way to fix that or if I’m stuck with a semi-faulty A board. Thoughts?

- YieArKade said: Check the simple stuff: see if the RCA jacks on your A board are loose or have cracked solder joints. Disconnect the A and B boards and clean any pins if necessary. And check the audio cables and speaker wiring. Or maybe a speaker is blown? Click to expand…

- jimbodeanny said: I’m getting sound out of both speakers, it’s just the right channel is noticeably quieter than the left channel. I can swap cables and get the reverse, so both speakers are working fine, as is the amp. It’s just for whatever reason, the left channel is a bit louder than the right.
- I’m going to pull the boards tomorrow and inspect more. If nothing is obvious, I may recap the A board. Beyond that, I’m not sure. Click to expand…

- CPS2 A board volume SUPER loud - Any thoughts?
- I tried searching the internet and these forums for people that have had sound issues with their CPS2 A boards, but I can only seem to find issues of no sound, low sound or garbled sound. In my case, I have an A board that is just insanely loud! Basically, when I plug it in, I have to hold the…

- Well, call it complete luck, karma, or whatever. The first laminate sample I received just happened to be a perfect, spot on match.
- For those interested, it’s Arborite S497 “Ultramarine”

- Just a quick update relating to the audio issue I was having with the Q-sound. I recapped the A board and that fixed the issue.
- (For those that don’t recall, my right channel on the A board was much lower than the left channel. I also noticed that I couldn’t adjust the volume past 36. The amp and speakers all worked perfectly fine, and I had determined it was an issue with the A-board.)
- I probably replaced about 35 caps, so I’m not sure which one(s) did the trick, but all is well now.
